MACHINE FRIGORIFIQUE SOLAIRE AUTONOME A CYCLE DE RANKINE.

Author(s) : VOKAER D., BOUGARD J.

Summary

THIS PAPER DESCRIBES THE PROTOTYPE OF A RANKINE POWERED SOLAR COOLING UNIT. ALL WORK EXCHANGES ARE RELIABLY PERFORMED BY A FREE PISTON MACHINE, WHICH ALSO GENERATES ELECTRICITY TO DRIVE AUXILIARIES. THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF THE HOT SOURCE [343K (70 DEG C)] CAN BE EFFICIENTLY ACHIEVED BY CONVENTIONAL FLAT-PLATE COLLECTORS; THE COOLING OUTPUT IS 3 KILOW AT 283 K (10 DEG C). THE PERFORMANCES OF THE INSTALLATION ARE MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN THOSE OF AN ABSORPTION MACHINE, ESPECIALLYAT PARTIAL LOAD. A COMPARISON WITH A VAPOUR-COMPRESSION PHOTOVOLTAIC UNIT IS PRESENTED, FROM ECONOMICAL, ENERGETICAL AND EXERGETICAL POINTS OF VIEW.
