SOLAR REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING.

APPLICATIONS DE L'ENERGIE SOLAIRE DANS LE FROID ET LE CONDITIONNEMENT D'AIR.

Author(s) : BOUGARD J.

Summary

SOLAR ENERGY PROVIDES A SINGLE WAY TO SET UP A DECENTRALIZED COLD CHAIN WHICH WOULD BE ENERGETICALLY AUTONOMOUS IN ANY DEVELOPING COUNTRY. THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOLAR REFRIGERATING MACHINES ARE BASED EITHER ON THE DIRECT PHOTOVOLTAIC CONVERSION OF SOLAR ENERGY INTO ELECTRICITY OR ON THE CONVERSION INTO HEAT AT LOW OR MEDIUM TEMPERATURE. THEY ARE COMPARED ON A TECHNICAL, ENERGETICAL AND ECONOMICAL BASIS. THE RESULTS SHOW THE INTEREST OF PHOTOVOLTAIC EQUIPMENTS FOR SMALL REFRIGERATION CAPACITIES IN REMOTE APPLICATIONS AND OF RANKINE OR ABSORPTION MACHINES USING FLAT PLATE, SELECTIVE SURFACE SOLAR COLLECTORS FOR MEDIUM POWER UNITS.
