Summary

Complex compounds can adsorb and desorb gases at a vapour pressure which does not vary with the concentration of the adsorbate, and the proportion of the gas so adsorbed may be as high as 75% by weight of the adsorbant. In this working cycle, twin beds alternate between adsorption and desorption, with the refrigerant constrained by check valves to flow to the condenser and evaporator in the usual way. System efficiencies better than absorption circuits, with very favourable operation at low temperatures. Lower capital costs. A.R.T.
