SOME EXPERIENCES IN DETERMINING AN APPROPRIATE HEATING RATE IN LYOPHILIZATION PROCESS OF CHLORAMPHENICOL SODIUM SUCCINATE.

Author(s) : SELMAN E.

Summary

A COMPARATIVE STUDY IS MADE WITH DIFFERENT HEATING RATES APPLIED IN EXPERIMENTS MADE WITH TWO DIFFERENT FREEZE-DRIERS. FROM THESE EXPERIMENTAL DATA, SUITABLE HEATING RATES ARE OBTAINED FOR EACH UNIT, ALSO DEPENDING ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH AND ON THE OVERALL LOAD OF THE PRODUCT TO BE FREEZE-DRIED. THE AUTHORS OBSERVED THAT INSUFFICIENT HEATING DURING THE FIRST STAGE RESULTS IN PROLONGED PRIMARY DRYING AND THERE ARE RISKS OF PRODUCT MELTING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE RISES.
