THE AUTHOR PRESENTS FIVE HEAT PUMPS WITH A HEATING CAPACITY RANGING BETWEEN 3 AND 40 MW, WHICH, RECOVERING HEAT FROM PURIFIED SEWAGE WATEROR SEAWATER, SENDS IT TO DISTRICT NETWORKS. FOUR PLANT WERE EQUIPPED WITH MEASURING INSTRUMENTS MONITORING THE PLANT DURING TWO YEARS. THE DATA OBTAINED UP TO NOW SHOW THAT THE PROMISED PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS WERE SATISFIED, THAT SOME TROUBLES CANNOT BE AVOIDED, BUT THAT ECONOMICS IS EXCELLENT, WITH, IN SOME CASES, A PAY-OFF TIME LESS THAN TWO YEARS.
