Summary

THE OPTIMUM PARAMETERS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED FOR THE CRYOPRESERVATION OF PLASMID BEARING SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE. MAXIMUM VIABILITY AND MINIMUM GENETIC DAMAGE WERE ACHIEVED USING 15% GLYCEROL AND A COOLING RATE OF 1 K/MIN. VIABILITY WAS FOUND TO BE MORE SENSITIVE TO COOLING RATES THAN TO GLYCEROL CONCENTRATION.
