Summary

Mycelia of this entomopathogenic fungus were frozen at three cooling rates. The cryoprotectants glycerol, DMSO, 1,2 propanediol, and methanol were tested at several concentrations. The best combination for each cryoprotectant was at the slow cooling rate. Intermediate and ultrarapid cooling rates, using glycerol as cryoprotectant, gave high or moderate survival rates but had a negative impact on sporulation.
