Stack effect in tall buildings.
Author(s) : LOVATT J. E., WILSON A. G.
Summary
A research project was commissioned on the measuring of the magnitude of specific problems related to stack effect in a tall building exposed to cold weather and testing the effect of modifications to the heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning system designed to reduce these problems. The measurements indicated that stack effect caused few observable problems in the specific building measured. Simulations showed that these problems were strongly dependent on the envelope air leakage area. Other results are given.
