Statistical distribution of bacterial lag times.
Author(s) : BARANYI J.
Type of excerpt: Book chapter
Summary
The lag time of bacterial population is a composition of the individual cells' lag but the observed population lag is shorter than the average of the individual lag times, as long as asymmetrical (such as exponential) distribution is assumed for the individual lag times. The theoretical results are checked by computer simulation.
