ORANGE-TREE SEEDS WERE STORED, IMBIBED IN VARIOUS CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS, MAINLY GROWTH REGULATORS, ORGANIC ACIDS AND FRUIT JUICES AT 277 OR 298 K (4 OR 25 DEG C), WITH OR WITHOUT FUNGICIDE. SAMPLES WERE TAKEN AT INTERVALS OF 388 OR 628 DAYS AND GERMINATION TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT. THE BEST GERMINATION RATE REACHES 85% AFTER 628 DAYS. THE PAPER STUDIES THE FUNGICIDAL EFFECTS OF TESTED PRODUCTS AND DESCRIBES THE PROBABLE MODE OF ACTION OF THESE TREATMENTS.
