THE AUTHORS PROPOSE A STORAGE SYSTEM OF NATURAL COLD IN UNDERGROUND WATER LAYERS, BY COOLING THE WINTER WATER DOWN TO 275-277 K (2-4 DEG C). THE OPEN AND CLOSED COOLING SYSTEMS WITH THIS TYPE OF COLD STORAGE ARE EXAMINED ; THE ADVANTAGES AND OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS ARE SHOWN. IT WAS PROVED THAT FOR CERTAIN CASES, IT IS POSSIBLE NOT TO USE REFRIGERATING MACHINES FOR AIR CONDITIONING.
