Summary
The objectives of this book are: to explain the catalytic action of CFCs on strastopheric ozone and their contribution to the increase in the greenhouse effect, and to present the Montreal Protocol and describe its consequences for Lebanon ; to make public authorities, industrialists, engineers, etc., aware of the great importance and urgency of adhering to the Montreal Protocol ; to incite local operators to undertake joint action to assist Lebanon in facing the CFC phase-out. The book contains the 6 following articles (in French or English): Lebanon and CFC issues ; the CFC issue in Hitachi ; the ozone hole: cause and strategy ; the UV lives ; the United Nations Environment Programme ; the whole story.
