Summary
During their commercial lifespan, strawberries undergo a number of types of deterioration related to their fragile nature and rapid evolution. Observations of the itinerary between dispatch and distribution have highlighted considerable variations in product behaviour and considerable product loss. To reduce mechanical constraints, several containers of various materials and shapes were tested. The flat plastic tray designed to help keep the fruits in place provides a promising protective index.
