Summary

IN TWO YEARS RESPECTIVELY 53 AND 44 CLONES OF STRAWBERRY WERE COMPARED AS REGARDS PERCENT DECAY AND WEIGHT LOSS DURING STORAGE. STRAWBERRIES WERE PARTLY VACUUM COOLED AND PARTLY WRAPPED IN PLASTIC FILM. WRAPPING REDUCED ONLY WEIGHT LOSS, WHILE VACUUM COOLING INCREASED STORAGE LIFE. A CORRELATION WAS OBSERVED BETWEEN FIRMNESS OF FRUIT AND PERCENT OF DECAY.
