A ROTATING CONDENSER WITH A SCRAPER IS CONSIDERED AS A NEW MEANS TO BE USED IN CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER AUGMENTATION. THE AUTHORS REPORT ON THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ABOUT THE CONDENSATION OF R11. THE DISTRIBUTIONS OF CYLINDER SURFACE TEMPERATURES AND THE MEAN HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ARE OBTAINED. THE EFFECTS OF SPEED OF ROTATION AND TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VAPOUR AND CONDENSER SURFACE ARE MADE CLEAR. THE ENHANCEMENT DUE TO SCRAPING IS DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF THE MEAN NUSSELT NUMBER RATIO AND COMPARED WITH ANALYTICAL RESULTS.
