Summary

The experiment was conducted to explore the effect of liquid refrigerant injection on the performance of a semi-hermetic reciprocating refrigerating compressor and the variation of the liquid refrigerant injection ratio with evaporation temperature and condensation temperature on a Sanyo model under different conditions. The results show that the liquid refrigerant injection can effectively reduce the discharge temperature, but will increase the compressor power and reduce the refrigerating capacity and the COP. The injection ratio is non-linear with the discharge temperature. The optimization of the liquid refrigerant injection ratio by selecting the capillary tube for injection can ensure the compressor performance as well as the discharge temperature.
