Summary

STUDY OF THE CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE SUGAR CONTENT AND DORMANCY OF TUBERS UNDER DIFFERENT STORAGE CONDITIONS. THE TERMINATION OF DORMANCY IS CHARACTERIZED BY THE FORMATION OF FRUCTOSE. DURING STORAGE AT 288 K (15 DEG C), THERE IS NO HYDROLYSIS OF SUCROSE INTO GLUCOSE AND FRUCTOSE ; NO SPROUTING IS OBSERVED DURING 7 MONTHS AFTER HARVESTING. THE TUBERS STORED AT 278 K (5 DEG C) UNDERGO DETERIORATIONS (ROTTING-DECAY) AFTER 3 MONTHS OF STORAGE. (Bibliogr. int. CDIUPA-CNRS, FR., 87-210-227697.
