Summary

THE APPEARANCE OF SUPERCONDUCTING THREAD NEAR A SCREW DISLOCATION, THE SUPERCONDUCTING TRANSITION IN A CRYSTAL CONTAINING DISLOCATIONS AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT IN A CRYSTAL CONTAINING SCREW DISLOCATIONS ARE CONSIDERED ON THE BASIS OF THE GINZBURG-LANDAU EQUATIONS AND LONDON EQUATION AS WELL. THE CONDITIONS FOR THE SUPERCONDUCTING THREAD TO ARISE NEAR A DISLOCATION ARE SHOWN TO DEPEND ESSENTIALLY ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF ORDER PARAMETER IN THE DISLOCATION CORE. THE APPEARANCE OF A SUPERCONDUCTING THREAD IS NOT CONSIDERED TO BE A TRUE PHASE TRANSFORMATION WHICH REALLY TAKES PLACE IN THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL FRAME OF SUCH THREADS. IT IS SHOWN THAT THE CURRENT PASSING ALONG A SCREW DISLOCATION CAUSES A RELATED WHIRL THREAD TO ARISE, WHICH DOES NOT VANISH AFTER CUTTING OFF THE TRANSPORT CURRENT.
