Summary
The paper describes the HVAC&R systems of a supermarket store with 12,000 m2 of selling area and 20,000 m2 of warehouses and service. The gross area is 45,000 m2. The main characteristics of the plant are: medium temperature with distribution of secondary coolant (glycol-propylene solution) as a strategy for reducing total refrigerant charge; air conditioning with ice harvester thermal energy storage; all HVAC&R components are controlled and operated with digital controllers and integrated into the building management system.
