Summary

A MICROSCOPICAL STUDY HAS BEEN MADE OF THE SURFACE CONTRIBUTION INTO LOW-TEMPERATURE HEAT CAPACITY OF A HIGHLY ANISOTROPIC CRYSTAL FOR A SPECIFIC MODEL. IT IS SHOWN, AMONG OTHER THINGS, THAT THIS CONTRIBUTION FEATURES A CHARACTERISTIC MAXIMUM WHICH SHIFTS TOWARDS THE LOW-TEMPERATURE REGION AS THE BASAL PLANES INTERACTION BECOMES WEAKER.
