Summary

For special application in refrigerating machines, a hot-film anemometer has been developed for the purpose of the surveillance of important functions of the plant. It yields controlled variables for the continuous optimum filling of the evaporator ("dry" evaporation process) with refrigerant, in order to save energy and to protect the compressor against liquid flood-back. Additionally, loss of refrigerant and of capacity are indicated.
