Summary

The storage potential of plums of the cultivars 'Anna Spath', 'Valjevka' and 'Amers' growing in central Poland was assessed. As for the plum cultivars tested in previous years, the best storage temperature appeared to be -0.5 °C. Under these conditions 'Anna Spath' plums could be stored satisfactorily for 5-6 weeks, 'Amers' plums for only 3-4 weeks, but 'Valjevka' fruits not longer than 2-3 weeks. Internal breakdown of plums appeared to be the main factor limiting their storage life.
