Swedish ground source heat pump case study (2010 revision).

Author(s) : LIND L.

Type of monograph: Report

Summary

This case study identifies aspects of Swedish experience in embracing ground source heat pump technology over the last 25 years. Elements which have contributed to the success are government support, research and development of heat pump systems, an independent heat pump association, certified installers, quality standards, environmental benefits, and a high level of awareness among the general public and decision makers in government municipalities. In New Zealand, ground source heat pump technology is immature and other nation’s experiences might usefully assist in determining how this technology might best fit into their energy scene and how the technology might be promoted to increase uptake.
