Summary

MIXTURES OF VARIOUS POLYHYDROXY COMPOUNDS WITH THE LOW-MOLECULAR-WEIGHT FRACTIONS OF ANTIFREEZE GLYCOPROTEIN FROM ANTARCTIC FISH BLOOD SHOWED A GREATER THAN ADDITIVE LOWERING OF THE FREEZING TEMPERATURE. MIXTURES OF POLYHYDROXY COMPOUNDS WITH HIGHER MOLECULAR WEIGHT ANTIFREEZE GLYCOPROTEINS SHOWED A MUCH SMALLER SYNERGISTIC EFFECT ON THEFREEZING TEMPERATURE.
