Summary

HUMAN BLOOD PLATELETS WERE FROZEN AT VARIOUS RATES IN MIXTURES OF GLYCEROL AND DEXTRAN. THE POST-THAW AGGREGATION RESPONSE WAS DEPENDENT ON COOLING RATE. COMBINATIONS OF DEXTRAN AND GLYCEROL WERE NOT BETTER THAN GLYCEROL ALONE AT PROTECTING PLATELETS AGAINST FREEZING INJURY.
