System performance of a split-type unit having R22 and R407C as working fluids.

Summary
In the study, a drop-in system performance comparison of refrigerants R22 and R407C is reported. The test conditions include standard rating condition, overload condition, and low-temperature condition. It is found that the cooling capacity of R407C is about 3% lower than that of the R22 system, and the COP for the R407C system is 4% lower than that of the R22 system. Meanwhile, the drop-in test results show that the condensing pressure for R407C is 200 to 300 kilopascals higher than that of R22.
