Technology growth of fluorocarbon vapour compression systems.

Author(s) : GLAMM P.

Summary

The author defends conventional cold-production technologies for air conditioning by describing the progress that has already been made in plant yield (compressors, exchangers, etc.). Limits have not yet been reached and further work toward energy savings that reduce CO2 emissions is worthwhile. CO2 emissions play a much more important role over a plant's service life duration than the refrigerating fluid. Conventional plants, with the new fluids, still have a bright future ahead. The extent of possible progress is evoked.
