Temperature and magnetic field dependence of thick-film resistor thermometers (Dale type RC550).

Summary

The authors found that, at a temperature between 30 milliK and 10 K, the temperature dependence of the resistance follows a variation law in agreement with published data for a kilo-ohm-thick-film chip resistance. In contrast to previously published studies of similar resistors they mesured a resistance that increases approximately linearly with field at T lower than 1 K and quadratically at higher temperatures. The sensitivity to magnetic fields decreases from (0.8 more or less 0.1)% 1/T at 0.3 K to 0.1% 1/T above 2 K for magnetic film= 1 T.
