Test operation of superconductive part in 40-tesla class hybrid magnet system.

Summary

The authors have performed successfully the first test operation of the superconductive part. It took about 145 hours to cool down the superconductive part from room-temperature to 4.2 K by using a helium refrigerator of 200 watts. The magnet could generate a central field up to 14.01 T in a 400-mm room-temperature bore with helium evaporating rate of 18.8 l/hour.
