THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES AN IMPROVEMENT PROCESS FOR THE EFFICIENCY OF THE HEATING-AIR CONDITIONING PLANT OF A LARGE (31,200 M2 ) OFFICE AND COMMERCIAL BUILDING ERECTED BEFORE THE ENERGY CRISIS. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BUILDING AND THE ORIGINAL PLANT ARE DESCRIBED, THE DRAWBACKS OF OPERATION DUE TO THE INITIAL DESIGN ARE ANALYZED, THE CHANGES MADE ARE DEFINED (CAPACITY MODULATION, CONTROLS, ADDITION OF A RECOVERY HEAT PUMP, LOAD-SHEDDING AND RATIONAL USE OF OFF-PEAK ELECTRIC TARIFFS). THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW EQUIPMENT ARE DESCRIBED AND THE RESULTS OBTAINED OVER A WHOLE OPERATION YEAR ARE ILLUSTRATED. J.R.
