Summary

The debate on the environment that has taken place during recent years and legislation adopted in this field have led to the development of many new refrigerants and a great deal of new refrigeration technology. At the same time, the refrigeration field's needs in terms of research and knowledge have also grown. For these reasons, the Control Division has placed more emphasis on the chemical aspects of refrigerating plant: this technology is today defined as being a key technology.
