Summary

THE DRYING OF STORED PRODUCTS CAN BE FAIRLY ACCURATELY CALCULATED IF ONE KNOWS THE HEAT LOAD AND PRODUCT MASS IN THE STORAGE SPACE. THE DEGREE OF DRYING CAN BE ASSESSED FROM THE RUNNING TIME OF THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND THE VOLUME OF AIR BEING CIRCULATED THROUGH THE PRODUCT MASS, BUT A GREAT DEAL DEPENDS UPON THE CAPACITY OF THE REFRIGERATING UNIT. THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NATURAL AND FORCED AIR CIRCULATION ARE DESCRIBED.
