Summary

The effect of air vent holes, stacking methods of boxes and clearance between boxes on the static pressure drop, were measured to help in the design of pressure cooling systems. Static pressure drops in air vents in boxes were measured for different hole sizes from 1 to 5% of the side area. At given static pressure in the plenum chamber, the static pressure drop in boxes was shown to be a second-degree polynomial of the number of boxes in series stacking, and as a first-degree polynomial for height and parallel stacking.
