Summary
Fruits were stored at 2 deg C for 4 weeks and then held at 20 deg C and examined for chilling injury after 2 days. Without growth regulator treatment, only 15% of the fruits were free from chilling injury symptoms (peel pitting, fungal infections) at the end of storage. Fruits from plants sprayed with synthetic growth regulators were 63-89% free of chilling injury symptoms.
