Summary

PRE-HARVEST GOLDEN DELICIOUS WERE TREATED WITH VINCLOZOLIN, METIRAM AND CARBENDAZIM TO PREVENT FRUIT DECAY. THE SAME PRODUCTS WERE USED AS POST-HARVEST SPRAYS WITH METIRAM BEING REPLACED WITH A MIXTURE OF CAPTAN + CARBENDAZIM. AFTER 7 MONTHS STORAGE AN EXAMINATION WAS MADE OF DECAYED FRUIT AND THE VARIOUS FORMS OF FRUIT ROT. CAPTANCARBENDAZIM WAS THE MOST EFFECTIVE INREDUCING PENICILLIUM AND VINCLOZOLIN WAS EFFICIENT IN CONTROLLING GLOEOSPORIUM AND BOTRYTIS. PRE-HARVEST SPRAYING WAS NOT FOUND TO BE EFFECTIVE.
