Summary

IF METHODS OF ABSTRACTING, STORING AND RECOVERING HEAT FROM/IN THE GROUND AND WATER ARE TO BE UTILIZED, IT IS NECESSARY TO MAKE ALLOWANCE FOR THIS POTENTIAL RESOURCE IN CONNECTION WITH PUBLIC PLANNING OF HEAT SUPPLY SYSTEMS. CONSIDERATION WAS GIVEN TO LINKING VARIOUS SMALL DISTRICT HEATING AND GROUP HEATING SYSTEMS IN THE URBAN AREAS. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS FEASIBILITY STUDY WAS TO ANALYZE HOW USE OF THE GROUND AS A HEAT STORE CAN INFLUENCE THE CHOICE OF FUELS AND OPTIMUM SIZE OF HEAT PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS IN A POTENTIAL JOINT HEATING SYSTEM. THE EFFECT ON HEAT PRODUCTION COSTS OF THREE DIFFERENT BASE HEAT PRODUCTION ALTERNATIVES WAS CONSIDERED IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE THE SAVINGS TO BE MADE THROUGH USE OF A SEASONAL HEAT STORE. (SYNOP.
