Author(s) : BOUMA J. W.
Summary
The International Energy Agency (IEA) Heat Pump Programme covers research, development, demonstration and promotion of heat pumping technologies. A current focus of research is the properties and use of environmentally acceptable working fluids which can replace CFCs and HCFCs. Information exchange and knowledge transfer is a priority strategy of the Programme, and it is the main responsibility of the IEA Heat Pump Centre. It collects, analyses and disseminates information on heat pumping technologies and executes a promotion programme. The article gives an overview of the Programme's priorities, the accomplishments, the current activities and the scope for new international collaboration.
