INVESTIGATIONS WERE MADE IN ORDER TO DETECT THE RESPONSIBLE BACTERIA, CALLED LEGIONELLA PNEUMOPHILA. THESE INVESTIGATIONS SHOWED THAT THIS BACTERIA IS PRESENT NOT ONLY IN THE WATER OF COOLING TOWERS, BUT ALSO IN ALMOST ALL DOMESTIC HOT WATER DISTRIBUTION PLANT. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENTS OF RESEARCH WITH A SERIES OF SPECIFICATIONS FOR PREVENTING CONTAMINATION HAZARDS.
