THE MAXIMUM COP OF INDIVIDUAL WORKING FLUIDS IN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS.

Summary

THE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP IS USUALLY CONSIDERED AS OPERATING IN THE SAME WAY AS THE COMBINATION OF TWO CYCLES (MOTOR AND REFRIGERATION). THIS LEADS TO THE < IDEAL COP > DEPENDING ONLY ON TEMPERATURES. THIS IS A WRONG IDEA. HEAT PUMPS OPERATING IN THE SAME TEMPERATURE RANGE, BUT WITH DIFFERENT PAIRS OF WORKING FLUIDS, HAVE DIFFERENT COPS. THE AUTHORS GIVE A RELATIONSHIP FOR EVALUATING THE COP OF A GIVEN PAIR OF WORKING FLUIDS, WITHOUT CALCULATING THE SYSTEM.
