Summary
In Hokkaido, people have endeavored to adapt their houses to the cold climate for a long time. Recently high thermal insulation and airtightness are technically advanced and central heating and ventilation systems are widely used. The paper introduces the indoor temperature measured in the houses of some types at Sapporo and their energy consumption, and discusses how the thermal environment and energy conservation should be improved.
