THE RESEARCH AND TEST ON UTILIZATION OF EUTECTIC PLATE REFRIGERATOR VEHICLES IN RAILWAYS IN CHINA.
Author(s) : ZOU J. S.
Summary
IN 1979, CHINA BEGAN TO USE EUTECTIC PLATES IN REFRIGERATED RAILWAY TRUCKS. THE FOLLOWING RESULTS WERE OBTAINED: 1. A TRUCK PRECOOLED FOR 12 HRS CAN OPERATE FOR 120 HOURS AND RUN A DISTANCE OF 2,000 KM ; 2. AT A 303 K (30 DEG C) AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, THE TRUCK CAN MAINTAIN FROZEN PRODUCTS AT 263 K (-10 DEG C) AND CHILLED PRODUCTS AT 273-277 K (0-4 DEG C) ; 3. FOR THE TRANSPORT OF 10,000 T/KM, ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS DECREASED BY 44.6% AS COMPARED TO THAT OF THEICE-WATER MIXTURE AND BY 52.5% AS COMPARED TO THAT OF A REFRIGERATING MACHINE ; THE COST IS DECREASED BY 87.4% AS COMPARED TO THAT OF THE ICE-WATER MIXTURE AND BY 54.2% AS COMPARED TO A REFRIGERATING MACHINE.
