Summary

A MICROSCOPIC THEORY HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR THE SNS JUNCTION AT TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO THE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE WITH A NON-ZERO DEPAIRING PARAMETER INSIDE THE BARRIER. IN THE LIMIT OF A LARGE NORMAL LAYER THICKNESS, THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS FOR THE GINZBURG-LANDAU EQUATION ARE ESTABLISHED, THE EXPRESSION FOR THE CRITICAL JOSEPHSON CURRENT IS OBTAINED, THE SUPERCONDUCTING TRANSITION TEMPERATURE AND THE WEAK MAGNETIC FIELD PENETRATION DEPTH ARE CALCULATED.
