Summary

A PIPE COOLING METHOD USING A CHILLING UNIT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED AND IT IS CAPABLE OF CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE OF MASSIVE CONCRETE STRUCTURES. A THERMAL ANALYSIS WAS MADE FOR THE DESIGN OF THIS METHOD AND ITS PRACTICAL APPLICATION. THERMAL CONSTANTS OF THE CONCRETE WERE DETERMINED BY SIMULATING EXPERIMENTS. THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE CALCULATED RESULTS AND PRACTICAL MEASUREMENTS SHOWED 2 K FOR TEMPERATURE AND 10% FOR COOLING CAPACITY.
