Summary

The thermal conductivity of NH3 + LiNO3 and NH3 + LiNO3 + H2O mixtures with an ammonia mass fraction between 0.3 and 0.6 was measured at temperatures from 303.15 K to 353.15 K at 1.5 MPa, using a relative transient hot wire apparatus. The apparatus and method were validated by comparing the measured values of the thermal conductivity of pure water, toluene, dimethyl phthalate, ethylene glycol and water + lithium nitrate with published values. Uncertainty in the measurements was estimated to be less than 0.025 W m-1 K-1. The measured NH3 + LiNO3 thermal conductivity was compared with the literature, showing significant differences. Finally, the experimental data was fitted with a comprehensive model based on the local composition concept.
