Type of article: Article

Summary

MEASUREMENTS ARE REPORTED ON THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF VARIOUS COPPER, SILVER AND ALUMINIUM SAMPLESIN THE KELVIN TEMPERATURE RANGE, AS WELL AS OF COPPER AND OF SUPERCONDUCTING ALUMINIUM IN THE MILLIKELVIN TEMPERATURE RANGE. FOR COPPER IT WAS FOUND THAT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY IS PROPORTIONAL TO T AND THERE WAS AGREEMENT WITH THE WIEDEMANN-FRANZ LAW. HOWEVER, SUBSTANTIAL DEVIATIONS FROM THESE < STANDARD EXPECTATIONS > WERE OBSERVED FOR SILVER AND ALUMINIUM. FOR SUPERCONDUCTING ALUMINIUM IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY IS PROPORTIONAL TO SQUARE TEMPERATURE AT T LOWER THAN 0.08 K.
