THERMAL DESIGN OF ARTIFICIAL SOIL FREEZING SYSTEMS.
Author(s) : FRIVIK P. E., THORBERGSEN E.
Type of article: Article
Summary
THIS DESIGN SHOULD INCLUDE A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FREEZING PLANT AND THE THERMAL CONDITION OF THE GROUND AND THE EFFECT OF VARYING THERMAL PROPERTIES AND COMPLICATED GEOMETRIES. THIS SYSTEM IS BASED ON COMPUTER PROGRAMS. TWO PROGRAMS ARE DISCUSSED, ASINGLE-DIMENSION ONE BY THE METHOD OF FINITE DIFFERENCES FOR ANALYSING A SINGLE PIPE AND A TWO-DIMENSION ONE BY THE METHOD OF FINITE ELEMENTS WITH OPTIONAL LEAKAGE FLOW.
