Thermal performance of a cogeneration system using a chemical heat pump.
Author(s) : KATO Y., YOSHIZAWA Y.
Summary
The system is intended to utilize the waste heat discharged from a diesel engine by using a magnesium oxide/water chemical heat pump. A thermal performance estimation based on experimental results from the heat pump indicates that, by storing the waste heat from the engine at a time of low demand, the combined system could produce more than three times the thermal output of the diesel engine at periods of peak demand under certain operating conditions.
