THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF MECHANICAL DRAFT CROSSFLOW HEATING TOWERS FOR AIR-SOURCE HEAT PUMPS.

Author(s) : FUJITA T., KAWAHARA K.

Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT FIELD TESTS AND CALCULATIONS OF THE THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF A HEAT SOURCE OR < HEATING TOWER > WITH CROSSFLOW AND MECHANICAL DRAUGHT. THE OVERALL ENTHALPY TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS OF THE HEATING TOWER ARE PRESENTED WITH THOSE OF A COOLING TOWER OF THE SAME TYPE. IT IS CONFIRMED THAT A SIMPLE CORRECTION FACTOR METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION WITH CROSSFLOW CAN BE APPLIED TO HEATING TOWERS. ASSUMING THE TRANSFER COEFFICIENT IS INDEPENDENT FROM AIR ENTHALPY, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HEATING AND THE ENTHALPY OF INLET AIR IS EXPRESSED BY A SIMPLE EQUATION.
