Thermal simulation of a butterfly house.
Author(s) : PFROMMER P.
Summary
Reports on a butterfly house planned for Berlin. It is a large hall (about 700 m3) with a plastic tent roof, tropical plants, a pond, free-living butterflies and high internal humidity of 85%. The HTB2 thermal simulation program was used to calculate the coupled heat and moisture balance of the hall taking account of moisture condensation at cold surfaces, latent heat gains and energy demands for humidification.
