Number: pap. ID: 107

Summary

In the application of energy storage and thermal environmental control, PCM (Phase Change Material) is a very promising material choice. The objective of the present study is to provide insights into thermalinsulation alternatives that will improve thermal performance of rooftop constructions. In so doing, experiments have been performed for investigating the energy-saving effect of adding micro-encapsulated Phase Change Material (mPCM) to a conventional factory ceiling (gypsum board). The average energysaving effect at the entire heat absorption stage of a mPCM gypsum board compared with a conventional gypsum board is 31.7%.
